Develop your interview skills and your confidence with our training day designed to mimic the real thing. 

Come and undertake a mock interview, literacy and maths tests, experience a group interview and receive critical feedback from HR specialists and midwifery professionals to improve your performance on the big day.

The day is written and led by Josie, SMNET's Co-Founder and Director. Josie is supported by Annie, SMNET's Principal HR & Employment Law Consultant. You will meet the current student midwives and practising midwives who make up the SMNET Edge Training Team. They provide support, guidance and answer any questions you may have.

The day includes;

  • A mock interview with an HR consultant and a Registered Midwife :: with same day feedback and personal development plan
  • A real literacy and real maths test with feedback
  • A real group interview with feedback
  • How to effectively prepare for your interview to get ahead of the competition
  • Understanding the role of the midwife
  • Understanding the pillars of the profession exploring NMC, NICE & RCM
  • Exploring basic midwifery skills
  • Peruse the latest academic midwifery books

We will have lots of 'kit' for you to get hands on - so you can practice your LOA's and LOP's with our model baby and pelvis, fiddle with tourniquets, check out blood bottles, tap your first sphyg and give yourself a headache (we've all done it), take each others blood pressure and lots more.
